Builders For Christ

First Congregational Church has a strong history and commitment to living our faith out in the community. We believe in being the hands and feet for Christ. Along that line we have an exciting ministry known as Builders For Christ.

The Mission of Builders For Christ:
The mission of Builders For Christ is to build Christ's love in our community. Our goal is to be the hands of Christ.
We are the HANDS reaching out to our elderly and shut-ins and our "home maintenance challenged."
We are the HANDS reaching out to help, whatever your needs.
We are the HANDS reaching out to the community through Habitat For Humanity and InterFaith Community Services.
We are hands reaching out in fellowship, to serve those in need.

What is Builders For Christ?
We are a group of people who enjoy and believe in "hands on" ministry. We want to help those who might need a helping hand in our church and in our community.

Call On Us
One of our missions is to help those who are in need; or are reluctant to have strangers in their home. We're honest, safe, friendly, and inexpensive.

For Example:
Have a faucet that leaks? A curtain that needs cleaning and re-hanging? Shelves that need lining? A tree fell down in your driveway? Small painting projects? Just ask! In most cases, we ask you to pay for the major supplies like the water heater. We'll pick it up and deliver, provide the small parts and labor. We also recognize that folks might wish to use the services of "Builders For Christ," but would be willing to make a donation for the services. Such donations would be used to help those down the line who might not be able to afford (for example) the cost of the water heater. In other words, this is a no-profit operation. Any monies donated by persons who want to give a small gift of appreciation for the services are put into an operating fund. This operating fund is used to help pay for future projects that may be cost prohibitive for others.

In The Community
Another mission of Builders For Christ is to reach out to the community. We will be a leading church in local Habitat For Humanity projects. We will work with others to upgrade and maintain InterFaith Community Center's Genesis housing projects, and we will work to improve our own church's facilities.
