We are all members of God’s family, we are partners in a
church family, and most of us are members of smaller families. Families come in
all shapes and sizes and types. All families are special! Let me repeat that:
All families are special! We have learned that children and families today need
a place where they feel they belong; where they are accepted.
Our purpose at First Congregational Church is to meet those
needs by providing the time, place, and resource where friendships and
relationships can be built around a foundational relationship—our relationship
with Jesus Christ.
As our relationship with Christ is built and strengthened,
families and individuals are better equipped to face the challenges of living in
today’s world with the hope and power that comes with being children of God.
Our Family Ministry Program is now in its infancy. Our
program now has a name: Circle of Friends. Our Circle of Friends needs to
grow, and we are planning activities to
provide wholesome and Christian fellowship. Attached is a list of activities we
are planning for the rest of 2005. This program is really targeting families
with children under the age of 11, but all families are welcome. Multi-generationalism
is O.K.!
