Don Willis Sr.
I'm 69 years old and was born and live in Escondido. I have three sons, Don Jr., David and Daniel. I married Carol, my high school sweetheart in December of 1956. She's the joy of my life. I played baseball and basketball. I've always been a romantic who believes that love makes the world go 'round. Carol and I have attended First Congregational church since 1996. I love to write poems and I write all kinds, but my favorite is love poetry. I hope you'll enjoy my poetry.

Jesus
Jesus is my Lord and Savior,
He gave his life for me,
He's the Son of the Living God,
His love has set me free.

He came to teach us
And bring God's Kingdom here to earth,
To love and honor, our neighbor's,
For each person has their worth.

Jesus started a movement
That built like a raging tide,
Only three years he taught among us,
But what teaching He did provide!

Many miracles He performed,
His followers began to grow,
He preached on love and forgiveness,
And we reap just what we sow.

He amazed His followers
Raising Lazarus from the dead,
He also mystified them,
With the thousands that He fed.

They taunted, beat and scorned Him,
Then nailed Him to a cross,
and yet he said, "Forgive them,"
His love, He never lost.

Jesus defeated death
On the third day He arose,
He now reigns beside the Father,
His stay will never close.

"They devoted themselves to Apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."  Acts 2:42
